Stop Growing Up!

I saw this sketch at the beginning of July and I wanted to play and I finally had the time to use it!

I love these pictures of Laura, she asked if she could do the windows while Dan was gassing up the van. I took a few shots of her from inside. She did a great job, she is always asking to help - her latest request is to cook dinner on the BBQ. Dan is going to help her the next time we have something easy.

Here is the sketch from Sue Sykes:

SOUS: Hello Sunshine

This challenge for Stuck On U Sketches was out of order in my weekly project life so I created a little page from Laura's birthday + 1 day.

The summer theme worked well for my pictures even though they weren't technically taken in summer (June 1) so I cheated a bit!

ps. I'm pretty excited that I finally took a picture of a project life spread with zero glare! I'm also so sad that LYB isn't around any more. I won't ever get to drool over a collection from them. I am hoarding what I have like crazy.  I just loved the quality of their papers and the fun designs. I am going to weep for twig and winter twig. Possibly my favourite papers yet!

Lasting Memories #201: My 3 girls

This week at Lasting Memories, it's anything goes! I've been meaning to scrap these newborn pictures of my girls so this was the perfect time for me to do so. I quizzed my girls on which picture they thought was them and not a single girl got all three right. I don't blame them, the youngest two were so similar at the beginning, just their colouring was different and I fooled them with black and white photos!

Other challenges that inspired me:
Two Scrapbook Friends: sketch with a twist
Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge: recognized or won an award (yes, I'm stretching it, but I'm absolutely honoured to be their mom)

Stick it Down: We Were Here

These pictures have been with me since Aubie was just about two years old.  She had a fever the night before, but a dose of ibuprofen and she was fine the next morning. Or so I thought.  Daycare called me and said her fever as 104.5°C so I left work and took her right to the hospital where she had a seizure in the waiting room. The doctor and nurses were so quick to get her into a room and hooked up to all sorts of monitors and whatnot. It was a scary moment as a mom, all I could do was stroke her hair and whisper in her ear while the tears streamed down my face. My mother-in-law works there and I had asked for her to be paged when we registered, so she found us in the room with three nurses working over her and was shocked. Once it was all over, she just had a nice long sleep to rest. I called my husband at work, just because I wanted him there with us and it was so helpful in the end. His iPad saved the day, she was really working hard to get her IV out and the blood pressure cuff off, but playing with the tot games and taking pictures helped her cope.

All that because of a nasty ear infection - these third children really throw a parent a curve ball!

Here is the sketch and I hope you play along with us at Stick it Down!

Sketch ~N~ Scrap #61: Class Cards

Laura and I had a great time making these Valentine's cards for her classmates. I helped her make the cards, but it was up to her to write out all the names. She did a great job!

Week 37 of Project Life: Buttons!

We know you have buttons, we know you probably have hundreds of buttons, so let's see how you use them in this challenge from Stuck On U Sketches!

When my mom moved a while ago, she gave me all of her buttons (she used to sew!) and I have so many now.  It's challenges like this that make me get them out and use them.  They aren't normally a go-to item for me.

Here is the prize being offered this month!! You have to play to win!

We have a seriously amazing load of goodies
today sponsored by our very own
gracious Sponsor Coordinator
The candy offering all you need to get a project going! Love that!
To win our monthly blog candy all you have to do is join ANY of our
challenges! The more you create and share, the more chances to win!

I haven't been able to fulfill my design team requirements for a long while for Lasting Memories, but I saw this sketch and I had to make time!  I am such a sucker for circles. Seriously, a sucker so this fit the bill!

It's time for our Inspired By challenge at Sketch ~N~ Scrap! The sketch was done a little differently this month. Blog readers were asked to submit their favourite layouts and then Lisa created a sketch based on it. The sketch was then given to the design team for our interpretation.

Sketch ~N~ Scrap #60: Be You

It's sketch time again!  Come over and play along with us at Sketch ~N~ Scrap! I flipped the sketch as my photos worked better that way.

Oh my goodness, did we have fun that day. All my kids lost their boots in the snow, it was so warm out and starting to melt, but still so deep! It was a bit of an odd day, playing in the snow and then colouring with chalk on the driveway. Only in the north!  For realzies!

Project Life week 1 2014: Life in Details Challenge

The first of the month always brings forth lots of challenges and over at Life in Details we are asking you to use a 4x6 photo (or larger!) over multiple pockets.

I know I cheated as I'm not done with 2013 yet, but I wanted to get started on 2014 anyway.  I used the July challenge to do it!

The photo with the #5 is the one that I cut in half to fit in 2 3x4 slots.  I love the look it adds to my spread!  I cut the week card and celebrate 2014 on my cameo.  I love using it for project life!

I hope you come over and play along at Life in Details!
