Week 5 of Project Life

This week over at Stuck on U Sketches, we are asking you to use a sun on your project.

I took this very loosely in my 'happy' sunburst cut out with my cameo.  I am trying to use this thing more since it is such a fantastic tool!

LM #150 - Christmas in July

There are only 149 shopping days until Christmas!  Did that make you panic?  Never fear, we are celebrating Christmas in July at Lasting Memories!

This is my youngest decorating our tree last year.  My husband has a strict rule that no decorations come out before December 1st.  Well, last year he was working in China and he wasn't home so the girls and I decided to set up the tree in November.  We are such rebels!

I used a sketch from The Memory Nest to complete this layout.

RAK winner!

There were seven of you who emailed me the correct answer to my movie question.

"You'll shoot your eye out" is from the fantastic movie A Christmas Story!

The winner of the paper pad is Nancy!

You have 7 days to email me with your info!

Thanks so much to everyone who jumped on through our Christmas in July hop!

Week -2-Week: Sketch Challenge

I have been watching this Project Life challenge blog since it started not too long ago.

This challenge was a sketch, and I completely adore sketches!

The second side will be coming soon!

Here is the sketch!

LM#149 - The 'Birds and the Bees"

If you are looking for the Red Carpet Studio Challenge Christmas in July blog hop, click here.

I took this weeks theme at Lasting Memories in a different way than most of the design team did, I think!  Didn't your parents talk to you about the 'birds and the bees?' Well, the ultrasound of our third daughter sure shows that the talk isn't for naught!  That really is how babies are made...right???

Anyway, onto my layout.

I used sketch #10 from 2 Broke Girls.

I am also entering in the All that Stickles linky party for 'Waterfall'.  I used it to outline the two clouds.

RCS#46 "Driving Miss Daisy"

If you are looking for the Red Carpet Studio Challenge Christmas in July blog hop, click here.

In honour of our movie this week - "Driving Miss Daisy" - we are asking you to include flowers on your layout.  Another easy, peasy challenge, just the way I like them!

Our sponsor!

My layout uses my favourite Echo Park!  I love me some Echo Park and it occupies a large area in my cave!  I chose the 'So Happy Together' collection.

For the first time I used a sketch from My Creative Sketches.

Christmas in July!

Just because there's not snow on the ground, doesn't mean Christmas can't be celebrated a few months early! Happy Christmas in July, everyone, and welcome to Red Carpet Studio's Christmas in July blog hop!

If you're unfamiliar with Red Carpet Studio, we're a challenge blog that challenges crafters to create projects inspired by movies! Right now we offer alternating weekly card and layout challenges, but starting in September we'll be opening up our challenges to any types of projects that fit our theme, as well as extending the duration of the challenges to biweekly to give you awesome crafters more time to create and play along! We're also having a design team call!

Now onto my project...Since I am trying to use my Cameo more, I browsed the store and found these cute little 3D ornament balls.  I used the Doodlebug "North Pole" papers to create them.  I used Silver Stickles around the top, so they are shiny - just like the real balls you may hang on your own tree!  I also threaded the twine through a button so they had something to sit on when hanging up.

My favourite Christmas movie hands down has this line in it, "You'll shoot your eye out!"  Can you guess?  Shoot me an email with the answer to be entered into a draw for a Basic Grey 'Nook and Pantry' 6x6 paper pad! (my email is in the top right hand corner of my blog in "about me").  Let me know in the email that you also followed me via email or Google Friend Connect!

**Don't forget to leave a comment on my blog for a chance to win one of the main prizes!!**

And of course we have some wonderful sponsors giving away gifts to those who are a follower of Red Carpet Studio (either through Google Reader or Blog Lovin') and comment on EVERY stop of the hop!

$5 Gift Certificate

$10 Gift Certificate

5 Digis of Winner's Choice

Winners will be randomly chosen and announced on Tuesday July 23rd along with the winners of our Action Wobble challenge!

Your next stop is Chas' blog.

Happy Hopping!

A new challenge site!

I love this type of challenge where you get to pick what you would like to do!

I copied this right from their blog so I didn't mess up any of the information!

Welcome to 1 2 3 Get Scrappy!

We are a new challenge blog for scrapbookers.

~ On the 10th of each month we will post a board similar to tic tac toe or bingo. There will be 3 rows across, and 3 rows down. Each space will have a crafty object/technique listed.

~ To enter our challenges, you must use 3 in a row. You may use across, down or diagonal. Yes, you may have other elements to your page(s). It doesn't just have to be the 3 things from our challenge. But, you need to list your 3 Get Scrappy elements you used.

~ You may enter each month's challenge up to 3 times.

~ You may include as many other challenges (from other challenge blogs) as you'd like. For example, if you use a sketch from another challenge blog and then use 3 in a row here on the same creation, that is totally fine!

~ You must link back to 1 2 3 Get Scrappy! in your blog post.

~ Link your blog post that associates with our challenge, please do not link back to your blog in general.

~ With only 1 challenge a month, you have more time to create. I know when I'm making pages, sometimes by the time I get it made for a challenge, the challenge is over! Ugh. :)

~ Have fun! We want to be a fun place to visit. I mean look, you are playing a game every time you visit 1 2 3 Get Scrappy! So, have fun with it and share with us what you create!

Week 4 of Project Life

Over at Stuck On U Sketches, it's time for another Project Life challenge!  This week we were asked to highlight a date.  I did so on a little calendar by selecting the week that was being shown on my spread.

After my book being blown over 4 times, here is the picture I was able to get!

LM #148 - Country Charm

This week at Lasting Memories, we are asking for your version of Country Charm.  So whatever the word 'Country' means to you and to add a charm.

I chose this picture of my wee-est one on her first Canada Day.  She looks impressed, doesn't she? Being Canada Day, I chose to do the layout in mainly my Country's colours of red and white.

I used my cameo for the title.

I used this sketch from Let's Capture our Memories for my layout.

Embellish Me Happy #4 - Celebrate!

At Embellish Me Happy this month we are asking you to share a celebration, be it your country, your family, whatever you choose.

I chose these pictures from Canada Day (July 1st) a few years ago where it rained so much it was miserable!  The youngest had such a great time playing with all the water that accumulated in the tray of her stroller though.  We didn't even stay for the fireworks.

I used my silhouette cameo to cut out the title and some glossy accents to simulate rain drops falling from the sky.

I used this sketch from My Scraps and More Sketches.

LM #147 - "Precious Family"

I really hate getting my picture taken and it's really sad because my kids don't have many photos with me in them.  My spouse is trying to rectify this situation and is randomly snapping pictures when I am not aware.  I am thankful he does because I now have this one of the youngest and I.  She was cold (she's always cold!) when we were sitting around the fire, so she snuggled up onto my lap and I just wrapped her up in my sweater.  It is a nice memory.

I used sketch #11 from 2 Broke Girls for this layout.

RCS #44 - "Star Wars!"

Our sponsor this week is Angela Holt Designs. One lucky, randomly chosen winner will receive a bling prize pack! Don't forget the design team will also choose their three favorite submissions to be in our spotlight!

This week at RCS we are featuring the movie "Star Wars".  We would like you to use a star on your layout!

Here is my layout.  I used my cameo to cut the star border beneath the photo mat.  I still had the camping line from October Afternoon sitting on my desk from the last time I was able to spend time in the cave, so I just went with it.  Now each girl has a layout of their first night in the tent.

Scrappy Friends July challenge.

Since our girls are staying with my in-laws this week for a vacation, I got the chance to play in my scrap cave today!  I hope to be able to complete many challenges this week.

There are three challenges this month and I incorporated each one on the above layout.

I used the song "I Love You" from her list and it's up there in tiny stickers on the calendar.

Week 3 of Project Life

I've been slacking lately in the posting department, I have 2/3 girls that have been sick this week!

So here is my week 3 of Project Life for Stuck on U Sketches!

The challenge this week is to use to journalling cards.  Easy, peasy so hope to see you link up!

Side 1

If you noticed that the 2nd page doesn't match the one in the double photo, it's because I realized some things were in upside down and backwards!!  So I fixed it and took a really cruddy new pic, sorry!
