Lasting Memories #141 - Stamp it with a Song!

This week at Lasting Memories we are asking you to use a stamped image along with a lyric from a song.

When I saw this challenge, I immediately thought of this picture of my daughter at my step-dad's birthday party way back when.  She had a lot of fun walking around in and playing with his boots.

I used a sketch by my Shelby Koehler.  You can find it here.

LM #140 - Alphabet Challenge

This weeks challenge at Lasting Memories is all about the alphabet!

I was at a crop and I bought some Vintage Bliss by Simple Stories.  It just went perfectly with this photo - her outfit and her smile!  This is my medium babe, my happy girl - then and still today.  The girl loves to smile!!

The patterned paper has big, cute letters on it as well as newsprint font.  I also used my most favourite ever sew easy circle stitcher thingy again.  Man I love that tool!!!

I used a sketch by Brenda Ragsdale for this layout.

RCS #37 - "Girl with a Pearl Earring"

This week at Red Carpet Studio we are featuring the movie "Girl with a Pearl Earring."  We'd like you to bring out your pearls for this one!

Here's our sponsor information for this week!

Here is my layout using a few pearls down in the corner.  I can't believe my girls were ever this small! It's a good thing I have photos because I honestly don't remember.

I also used the DIYthickers for the first time ever!  I covered them with Martha Stewart glass microbeads.  I think it looks kind of neat!

I used Sketch #5 from 2 broke girls to complete my layout.

Some crazy news!

Last month Stuck On U Sketches announced a design team call.  While I did not get selected for the sketch team, I was offered a spot on their brand new Project Life team.  I admit, I was a little baffled.  I have never done a Project Life spread before.

The more I thought about it, the more I really found myself wanting to do it! My girls each have their own books, but I have nothing for myself.

I fully hope and expect the girls to take their books when they settle down on their own, and I never realized that I would have nothing left here.  So, I accepted the spot happily and completely full of nerves!

I am so glad they offered me something that I didn't even know I wanted!  I am so excited to start my first project that I went on a little shopping spree!

The first challenge will be in June, I hope you come back and have a look!

Color Me Scrappy #38 - So happy together

I'm back with Color Me Scrappy for another guest reveal!

Here's the awesome colour (I'm Canadian, I need that 'u'!) scheme for this challenge.

The twist is to use paint or mist.  I did something I have never done before.  I finally used one of my templates that I seem to keep buying and never using! I will definitely use it again!

I  used an older pagemaps sketch for this layout:

EMH challenge #2: My girls

It's time for the second reveal at Embellish Me Happy.   The challenge this month was to add any type of texture cardboard, twine, paints, inks, glitter, etc. to your project.  Then we added a little twist in honour of Mother's Day.  We decided to throw in pink and red colours and some round embellishments.

I was at a weekend scrapbook retreat and I won the Doodlebug "Lovebirds" collection.  Well, if that's not pink and red, then nothing is!  It also came with some buttons so there was my round embellishment!

I used an older pic of the girls and I.  I have scrapped this before but each girl has their own book so if it's a picture I like, I scrap it three times!

I used a sketch by Susan Stringfellow.

All That Stickles  is having a Cotton Candy linky party. I used it to circle 'true love' on my background paper and also to outline my heart in my scallop circle.

LM #139 Inspired by a TV show

At Lasting Memories this week, we are challenging you to draw inspiration from a TV show.  I was looking through my pictures and when I saw this one, I knew it was perfect for this challenge.  I used the title of the kids show "Reading Rainbow" as the title of my layout.

My youngest was reading a book with her Uncle on her baptism day.

I used a sketch by Shelby Koehler.

Jump

I found this layout that I forgot to post!  I used the sketch at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge but am too late to link up with it.

I am linking up with the Icicle linky party at All that Stickles since I have so many colours and need to start using them up!

Also, Amanda challenged us to Make it Sparkle at Two Scrapbook Friends, so I did!

Looking for some challenges to get your mojo going?

Embellish Me Happy debuted last month and the first challenge is to create a monochromatic project.

Lasting Memories wants to see a one photo layout.  Layouts only for this one!

Red Carpet Studio is featuring the movie "Black Swan" and would like you to use black on your layout.

I hope to see you joining in, all these challenges end next Saturday, May 11.

Sis

It's Sunday!  Time for another reveal at Lasting Memories.

Our challenge this week is to use one photo only!  Might be hard for some, but for me the majority of my layouts lately have been one photo.

There is a prize up for grabs this week as well, so we are asking for just one submission! Thanks to Charity for supplying the prize.

I used this sketch by Amanda Wolff

I used Little Yellow Bicycle Hello Spring Collection for this layout.

roll of the dice

Welcome to Sunday and a Red Carpet Studio reveal!

Our challenge this week is based on the movie Black Swan and we'd like to see you use the colour black on your layout.

As always we have a great sponsor and prize for this project!

Last year our skating carnival had the theme "Viva Las Vegas".  All numbers were related in some way shape or form to Vegas.  My middle girl skated to the song "Roll of the Dice" and she was happy she got to be the pink one!

I used a sketch by Joanne Burton and the Echo Park Just Married collection to create this layout.

Guest DT at Color Me Scrappy!

One of the perks about winning a challenge at Color Me Scrappy (you don't know how badly the Canadian in me wants to type colour!) is that you get invited to be a guest designer!

I was thrilled to do it and even more happy that there was a sketch involved!

This is the family + priest photo we had taken after our girls finally got baptized last year.  In case you are wondering, they like to dress the same, which makes it easy on my but the little one will have the same outfit to wear in three sizes!!

Come back on May 15th for my next Guest Design reveal!

Thanks so much for having me, ladies!
