My scrappy weekend

I got to scrap with a great bunch of ladies this weekend! After talking for about three hours, I finally got three layouts accomplished. They are all based on sketches by Lucy Chesna for her My Sketch World 7th anniversary sketch-a-thon.

Scrap Your Story Challenges: A new blog!

There is a new challenge blog starting soon!  It's called Scrap Your Story Challenges, and I have to tell you I am excited to see what Christy has in store for us.

Here is the challenge format:

Challenge Schedule

Week 1: Use it
Week 2: Theme
Week 3: Sketch
Week 4: Technique

Below is copied directly from the blog:

A little about us:  We will host weekly scrapbooking challenges starting each Friday.  Each week will bring you a different kind of challenge, but the rule will be the same... create a layout that is new (no back linking) following the challenge and share it with us.  You will have until the following Thursday night at 11:59pm (US central time) to complete the challenge, post it to your blog, and return to the blog and link up.  That weekend we will post our top 3 and at the end of each month we will choose one winner at random to receive a prize.  You will be entered into that drawing once for each of the challenges you enter...that's up to four chances each month!!!

Design Team Call!!! If you are interested in becoming a part of this excitement please email me at scrapyourstorychallenges(at)gmail(dot)com with Design Team Call in the subject line.  The call will last until spots are filled, so don't wait!!  Please include the following:
  • Your name
  • Your blog URL
  • A link to your online gallery and/or links to your three favorite layouts.
  • A little about yourself
  • Your DT experience as well as a list of DT positions you currently hold.
(it's NOT required, but if you have it flaunt it).
  • Tell us your favorite thing about online scrapbooking challenges.
Requirements for a DT spot include:
  • Posting to your blog on a weekly basis.  There is always wiggle room there if something comes up, but generally speaking you will be given all of the challenges for your term at the beginning and our first few challenges will be super easy to comply with since we have a short turn around with our first DT.
  • Promoting our blog whenever possible.  Including linking to us when posting your challenge contribution and displaying our button on your sidebar.
  • Commenting on participants entries (we will divide the task so it's not overwhelming).
  • Keeping in communication through our private DT blog.
  • Able to take quality photographs of your layouts.  No need for perfection, but your photos should do your layout justice.
  • The ability to have a super easy to follow challenge completed by the end of February to post on March 1st.
  • Fulfill a 3 month term March-May 2013

She also has a giveaway going on for this fabulous prize!  So head over and become a follower of the blog.

Two Scrapbook Friends online crop

The DT at Two Scrapbook Friends have been having an online crop this weekend and these are the last two cards to complete all the challenges!  I made cards,  shocker!

Carolyn asked us to use a polaroid somewhere on our project.

Amanda wanted us to use an envelope on our project.

I'm all ready for next years romance day!

Baby, it's cold outside!

Jayne at Two Scrapbook Friends challenged us with a menu challenge.

My items were a close up, an arrow and my favourite thing on a layout (stitching).

I used this sketch from Sketches in Thyme.

Use Your Stuff wanted to see a layout created around snow.  In this picture, it's so cold outside, her little eye brows have ice on them!  She sure didn't stay out for long!

Je T'aime

First time playing at Nuts About Sketches.  I have admired their sketches before, but something has always come up and I have never had the time.

I flipped the sketch and used this picture of our third baby girl.  We had this picture taken of all our girls, I loved it so much after the first one was done!

Pals

I am back in full swing playing along with challenges at Two Scrapbook Friends!

I chose Shelby's sketch #5 as my first layout at the crop I attended yesterday.

Shelby's sketch:

Family

I found this new challenge blog called Life. Paper. Scrapbook.

This is my take on their first sketch.

I used some really old Imaginisce.  Like 2009 old!
