Two challenges in one!

Jayne at Two Scrapbook Friends challenged us to use stitching on our project!  I love to stitch on my layouts so this was a breeze!

I used Let's Get Sketchy challenge 8 as the basis for my layout.

Thanks for looking :)

Two Scrapbook Friends NSD 2012 online crop

Christa challenged us to use some form of wet medium on our project.  I used a bit of mist on the background.

I used last weeks Let's Get Sketchy challenge #7 to do this layout, since I didn't have time to do it at the time!

One hour sketch challenge at MSW

I participated in my first one hour sketch challenge tonight at My Sketch World. Only in my case, it was more like the 40 minute sketch challenge because I had to take Aubie to the hospital again.  (She has her fifth ear infection since October.)

I got it finished in 39 minutes!  I used an older picture from another infection my poor baby had.

The sketch was designed by Lucy Chesna and can be found at My Sketch World.  Join up and play next month's OHSC and all the other challenges put forth by the design team!

Let's Get Sketchy Challenge #6

Talk about down to the wire!  I linked up with just 5 minutes to spare!

I loved this pic of Aubrielle from her baptism day last month.  The colours just matched this collection from My Mind's Eye perfectly!

You can see the sketch at Let's Get Sketchy.  Probably too late to play this week though!

Some more...new addiction, I think!

I went back to the net to find a star for my bff, Shelby and a butterfly for my girls.

Star tutorial:

My star needs a little help!!

I went back to the Little Birdie Secrets to find out how to make a butterfly.  The variegated one is from Bernat Handicrafter cotton and then I wanted a smaller one, so I used embroidery floss (I have lots!!).  I think they still need work too, but this was just learning!

Thanks for looking!

Thank you, WWW!

I have been wanting to learn how to crochet little flowers for my scrapping for a long time.  Yesterday we were in Sudbury, so I bought some wool and a crochet hook.

I found this great video on you tube for an easy flower and after two failed attempts, I had it done in a few minutes!

My first flower!  I would have used it, but my youngest ran off with it!

The two older girls wanted hearts, so back to the internet I went to find out how!

I found a great tutorial at Flower Girl Cottage.  Just like the flower, the two hearts I made have been snatched away from me by my children.

Next up?  My oldest wants a butterfly!

My Scraps and More blog hop challenge

I did the blog hop over at My Scraps and More yesterday and they also included a challenge sketch.  As you hop along to the different blogs, you collect items to create a layout based on the sketch.  There were lots of items on the list when I was finished and they required that we use at least three things on the list when creating our layout.  I chose cake, candles, and a bow.

Here is my take.

Here is the sketch.

Thanks for looking!

Sketches In Thyme - Design Team call

I stumbled upon this blog and they are having a design team call.  I loved the sketch, so I'm throwing my layout in for consideration.

Here is the sketch, I changed it up a bit to suit my needs!

Thanks for looking!

More Easter cards

I needed to make a card for my niece and nephew to put their gift cards in for Easter.  It was hard to make a boy card!  It's not like I have a tonne of male themed stuff in my stash!  I hope he doesn't mind the wee bit of pink on his card.

I'm also using his card to meet a challenge at My Sketch World which asked for a card with a bunny or chick on it!

Mémère is 80!

My husband's mémère turned 80 years old yesterday.  We are going there for Easter dinner today so I made this card for her.  I promised myself that I am going to try to make more cards.  It's very much out of my comfort zone!

Another sketch by Joanne Burton!

I really love her sketches, I've got quite a few layouts done thanks to her sharing them!

She issued this sketch as part of a forum challenge at Two Scrapbook Friends.

Thanks, Joanne!

Two more from the retreat!

As time wound down on Sunday, I was frantically trying to finish these two layouts.  Then I realized how much crap I had brought with me and how much of a mess I had made, so finally at 2:45 I stopped and used the last 15 minutes to pack up my stuff!

Both of these layouts are based on sketches by Allison Davis found in volume 8 of double page layouts.  Yes, you saw that right!  I did a few double pages layouts, it's been so long!

For O's book,

For L's book.

Sharlene's 2nd sketch

Sharlene on the TSF's design team challenged us to use her sketch, and I did!  I'm really not one for cards, but I loved the sketch.

Here is my version!

Now I just have to make two more!

Our Family Home!

On Sunday, I created this layout of our new home.  We moved in on November 18, 2011.  I had gotten off work a little early and came straight to the house, but the truck wasn't there yet.  I took this picture before I even had my keys!

It is based on a sketch by Jayne Morgan and the subject matter was inspired by a MSW challenge issued by Malin to create a project about a building.  It was also featured as the gallery pick of the week at Two Scrapbook Friends!

Let's Get Sketchy Challenge #5

I'm very happy that Let's Get Sketchy has extended their deadline!  I enjoy their blog and love to play along!

This week's sketch can be found here.

Here's what I did with it.  This is my father-in-law with our youngest on a little walk.

I broke into the Twig again, by LYB.  I love it so much, I will be so sad when I have none left!

Hello my name is Darcy. I am so excited to part of the team as Layout Designer.

I have been scrapping for about 5 years.  My style is simple, I am a huge blingophobe!  My girls
and my husband are the source of my photo inspiration, I hope you don't tire of seeing them!

Here is the April 1st sketch from My Sketch World (link: http://www.mysketchworld.com )

Here is my example using the sketch:

Thanks for being here and now its time to head to Bev's blog and check out her creation.

**Sorry for the technical glitch, I went to see why my post didn't appear as scheduled, and with
one wrong touch on my ipad the whole thing was gone!  I hope you would appreciate what I am
doing right now to get this posted!  I am in a hotel lobby in my jammies, huddled in a corner
hoping no one sees me!!!!

A sketch by Allison Davis

My mother in law hooked the girls up with their own paint brushes, icing, decorations and ginger bread figures. They were in heaven!

This was a 3 for 3 challenge here at the retreat.

- 3 photos
- 3 patterned papers
- 3 buttons

= Another layout for O's book!

A sketch by Joanne Burton!

I love Joanne's sketches, they are so fun!  She has been taking a break, but is hopefully going to start sharing her sketches with us again.  You can find her sketch blog here.

This was a special sketch created for us here at the retreat so I don't have a copy to share.

I have had these photos printed for as long as I have been scrapping for, so about 5 years.  My daughter is going to be seven very soon and the beagle is  no longer with us.

TSF's forum challenge - Shelby's 2nd sketch

The best part of working with this sketch, is that I got to sit at the same table as her to create my layout!  I have missed her so much!!
