The 'cave' is closed!

Merry Christmas to you! I hope Santa was good to you!

The cave is closed for renovations. This is my gift this year. It is a family affair getting it ready. The girls helped remove everything so that the could start painting.

First Snow

When we moved into our new house a year ago, the girls were so hoping we'd have snow.  This was the disappointed oldest when we didn't get a huge amount before Christmas!

I used this sketch from Stuck On U Sketches.

Also sending this to:
Red Carpet Studio RCS#16 Christmas Layout
Scrap Friends  as they had this colour combo to use as inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by!  Merry Christmas to you and yours!

My youngest and her cake :)

The journaling reads "a little girl made a great big wish."  I chose that to fit the challenge at Scrap it With a Song.  The song for this week is Shake up Christmas by Train.  I am not a great Christmas scrapper, and the lyrics fit this picture perfectly.

I used the sketch from Sketches in Thyme.

This weeks challenge at Scrap it With a Song is Elton John's 'Step into Christmas'.

I wasn't familiar with the song, so I had to read the lyrics!

When I saw the line "We can watch the snow fall forever and ever", I knew which pictures I wanted to use.

I know, you are thinking to yourself, "where is the sketch?"  I didn't use one!  I can't remember the last time I created a layout with no sketch.  However, Scrap it With a Song is having a DT call and I thought I would apply - so no sketch.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hat Trick

Another layout done! Only 1 0928 750 328 more to go!

The sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.

Also submitting to The Paper Girls Challenge, they wanted to see a multi-photo layout!

Another layout based on a Let's Capture these Sketches reveal.

I love the New Arrival collection from Pebbles.  It is really old, and I am holding on to the tiniest pieces to use.  I will be wishing I had bought more soon!

And as always, the sketch:

Thanks for stopping by.  It felt really good to get back in my cave, I was sick all weekend and didn't make it down.  Now, it's bedtime!

I won a contest!

I was surfing scrappy blogs last week and I found a neat little contest.  Marfa at Crafting Marfa was having an easy contest.  All you had to do was comment on the post and the winner would be featured on her blog for the month of December.  As the title of this post says, I won!

I figure if she is going to feature my blog, I would talk about her's.  So if you have the time, go and check out her blog.  She has some cool sketches, neat tips and tutorials and if you've ever wondered about quilling, that is a great place to go!

Psst.  She also has a monthly giveaway.  Who wouldn't love that?!?

Anyway, here is a bit of what she does.

So click on over and say hi!  To find her December Giveaway, click here.

Thanks again, for featuring me Marfa!

My first time being a Guest Designer!

At The Paper Mixing Bowl, when you are chosen in the top three, you get to come back as a guest designer. Pretty neat, right?

Here is the recipe card and the layout I created.

Thanks for letting me join you this month!  Please head over to the blog and see what their DT has cooked up!  Play along, maybe we'll be seeing you as a guest designer!
