Sketchy Thursdays - 2:24 sketch

I've missed a two weeks, but I am right back in this challenge.  I went to a crop yesterday and the sketch was on my list.  Thanks to Dan I had the tickets from O's first hockey game to add to the layout.

Here's the sketch:

And here's Ms. Ham herself, all excited to be going to see "real" hockey!

She knows how to howl like only a real wolves fan does!

I love it!

I went to a 12 hour crop today and to relax when I came home, I was checking all the blogs I follow.  I got all excited when I saw the Sketch Support blog for today.  One of my cards is displayed amongst some really fantastic layouts and cards based on Allison Davis' sketches.  I keep saying this, but I am really loving her sketches.  Thank you very much Allison, you made my day!

I'm finished!!

I have now completed all 20 sketches from the My Sketch World sketch-a-thon!  I was beginning to think that I would need until the March 3rd deadline, but I'm done early!!!
Here are my last layouts and cards.  Thanks for looking :)
After March 3rd, I am taking a better picture and making this my FB profile pic!
hey :)
H2-O!  I fixed the O so it looks more like one :)
this is my bil's card for his birthday, which I had better get in the mail soon!  Dan said, "but there's flowers on it." Dudes can have flowers, too!!  And I'm pretty sure BIL doesn't read my blog, so he won't see the card early.
I think this would be appropriate for a new mom.....because you know they don't sleep!!

Sketchy Thursdays - Second Chance challenge.

They have this new challenge for "holiday" cards.  I loved the sketch so I made an eastery card.  Turns out it was supposed to be a Christmasy holiday card.  OOPS!  However, I played along, so I'm linking up :)

My first accordian flower!

I am flower challenged!  However, I followed a tutorial by Sharon over at the Two Scrapbook Friends forum and it was easy to make this accordian flower!!
These layouts and cards are part of the sketch-a-thon going on over at My Sketch World.  I have now completed 15/20 sketches.  Hopefully, by the weekend I will be done!
I love the look on O's face here.  She was so happy to be eating chocolate!!
I wish this photographed better.  There are some cute pics of my dad and Laura here.

I like this card!  That's unusual for me.

I made one more card, but I wasn't into the sketch so I don't like the card and I'm not posting it here!

More layouts from the sketch-a-thon!

Considering I was the only person awake in my house after 9pm tonight, I got some scrapping in!  I've now completed 11 of the 20 sketches.  I think I will get them all done by the March 3rd deadline.  Anyway, here are the three I finished this evening.

My new task is to chose and edit 400 pictures that I am sending to shutterfly for developing.  I have accumulated enough pampers points to redeem them to cover the cost of 400 prints.  I have to pay for shipping but I think it's about 20$, so a good deal!

A couple of firsts!

Dan was given tickets to the Sudbury Wolves vs. Kitchener Rangers game today.  Normally, he takes Laura, but I gave the Laura the option of staying home to scrapbook and she jumped all over it.  OcĂ©ane is now at her first hockey game!  She is wearing Laura's jersey which is a tad too bid, as in it looks like a dress!  However, she is loving it and she will be the one you hear howling!  She's been practicing.

Just before leaving, getting ready for one last howl!

As soon as they left, Laura said, "can we go to the scrapbook store now?"   She was very sad when I told her that Two Scrapbook Friends was closed on Sunday.  She perked right up when I told her we could go downstairs to my room!  She's doing a good job although things may not quite match.  I think she wants to use a little bit of everything on her first page.  She's got lots of chalk, rub-ons and flowers!  A little overwhelming on an 8x8 page, but it is her first and she's having a great time!

working on her very first layout!

My Sketch World sketch a thon.

I have been very slow to get these layouts and cards completed for this online crop.  However, I got a few more done today.

Here are a couple of the cards.

Feb 8th sketch
Feb 6th sketch

And the layouts that I finished today.  I pretty pleased with all three of them!

Feb 5th sketch
Feb 11th sketch
Feb 14th sketch
Eight sketches done out of the 17 available, with 3 more to come.  Good thing we have until the 3rd of March to have them submitted.  I'm going to a 12 hour crop on Feb 27, so I'm sure I will be able to finish anything I have left!

Two Scrapbook Friends - Feb Product Challenge.

This month's kit was gorgeous.  I had the perfect picture to match the lovely colour scheme!  I also incorporated the weekly sketch challenge issued by Sharon.

The sketch.

Here's my take.  My first ribbon flower!

Is it bedtime yet?

I picked the girls up from the sitter today and we came home.  I'm not sure what happened between there and home, because they were happy there!  We cleaned up the driveway a bit and then came inside.  Laura and O decided to play with their leapsters that they got for Christmas.  Aubie decided she wanted to play too.  There are only 2 leapsters for 3 girls.  You see my problem.  After a few minutes of them screaming over who got to play and that they were not going to share, I took them away.  No warning, just took them and put them up where they can't be gotten.  This was the reaction I got.

On a positive note, Aubie peed in the toilet tonight!

Valentine fever

Laura is busy this afternoon making her valentines cards. She got a little bored with all the pieces so I am finishing the ribbon while she starts writing out 19 names for the cards. She is doing a fantastic job!

O made some cards too, but got bored even sooner so she is off playing with Aubie. Thankfully, she didn't have that many to prepare.

Another Saturday snowstorm

Dan woke up at 3:30 this morning so he could meet a bunch of other crazy guys and go ice fishing.  I was supposed to take the girls to dance and skating, however, it was snowing like crazy and the wind was blowing making it hard to see.  I took the easy way out and we all stayed home today.  Of course around noon, the sun was shining and most of the snow on the van has melted away.

I've been very neglectful of taking pictures of the girls, so here are some from this week and from Laura's 100th day of school (which she was so excited about!)

Last Saturday's snowstorm, which originally was supposed to be less than 1cm.

she was in awe of her necklace...really.

My 3 going on 17 year old.

making a mess, as usual....also as usual, her mop of hair!

Superbowl online crop

I participated in the Two Scrapbook Friends online crop this weekend.  In keeping with the sports theme of this weekend, the challenges each drew inspiration from football.  Here are the results of staying up until 3am Fri and 2am Sat!

The stars challenge, because athletes are superstars.
Pick a team either green/yellow or black/yellow.  I couldn't decide so I chose them both!  Doesn't matter to me which team wins!  Besides, isn't the bee so stinking cute?
The food challenge, because what do we do during the superbowl?  EAT!
Be the ball, that's right!  Use brown, stitching and texture on your project.  This one took me the longest to do.
Pick a number (inspired by the jersey numbers).  I saw this photo and thought of the title immediately.  Dan doesn't mind being in such a girly layout, after all he's with one of his princesses!
Although Texas isn't sunny right now, this is for the superbowl sunshine challenge.  I think I accomplished it :)
Goal posts into brackets challenge.  Possibly my favourite project of the crop.  It amazes me every day how good Laura is with her sisters.  I think this layout is just really sweet.

That's it for me though, morning comes early in this house and I am tired!!

It's Thursday!

That means a new sketch is published on the sketchy Thursday's blog!  It was a great sketch and Jo did it too.  I'm so scraplifting her version, I love it!  She is going to post it on the Two Scrapbook Friends gallery if you want to see it.  I'm glad I finally scrapped these pictures of Laura and her first time skating - back in 2007!

the fantastic sketch!
